Certified Disposal Service | PLB, EPIRB & SART

The certified disposal service ensures safe end-of-life management for PLB, EPIRB, and SART devices. It is intended for obsolete, non-serviceable, or damaged/irreparable beacons. The service includes device collection within Italy and issuance of a disposal certificate.

What it is

Certified disposal includes device collection, complete disassembly, destruction of the motherboard, and battery removal. All components, including lithium batteries, are disposed of according to RAEE regulations. At the end of the process, an English-language certificate is issued, uniquely identifying the beacon (model, type, serial number, HEX ID) for submission to the national COSPAS-SARSAT authority for official deregistration.

When to perform

Recommended in case of:

• Obsolete or non-serviceable beacon
• Damaged or irreparable device
• End of device life

We organize pickup across Italy, either from your home or via courier delivery. The device can be sent pre-packaged.

- Processing

The beacon is safely disassembled, with all components disposed of according to RAEE regulations.

At the end, a disposal certificate is issued in English with all device identification data, ready for submission to the national COSPAS-SARSAT authority.
